IFCN Fellowships

The IFCN aims for all disbursements of funds through out the regions of the world to be equitable and in support of the Federations main objective to promote knowledge in clinical neurophysiology. In this pursuit the following is the premise on which the IFCN operates its fellowship policy

  1. Each of the four IFCN regions: North America, South America, Europe and Asia-Australia receive a total of USD $100,000.00 per 4 year fiscal period (total USD 400,000.00). Normally these funds will be disbursed through the Chapter Treasurer.
  1. IFCN International Congress will receive USD $60,000.00 start-up funding in advance of the congress, plus USD $100,000.00 for fellowships, distributed by the IFCN at the congress.
  1. Should an IFCN member wish to apply for fellowship funding, all requests must be sent to the relevant ExCo fellowship liaison officers. The IFCN Executive Committee is responsible for the disbursement of all funds after consultation with the IFCN Treasurer and final agreement by ExCo. The ExCo fellowship liaison officers are:

    Asian-Oceanian region – Prof Hiroshi Shibasaki (shib@kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp)
    European region – Prof Kerry Mills (prof.krmills@mac.com)
    Latin-American region – Prof Daniel Cibils (drcibils@montevideo.com.uy)
    North American region – Prof Andrew Eisen (eisen@interchange.ubc.ca)

  2. Any region may apply for additional funds in small amounts to support courses or other activities that meet the mission statement of the IFCN. The funds need to be approved by ExCo and are dependent on a healthy fiscal situation.
