Visiting Professor Program

Promoting Education and Attainment of the Highest Level of Knowledge and Understanding of Clinical Neurophysiology

The International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology (IFCN) has member societies in 62 countries. The IFCN mission is to promote best practice in clinical neurophysiology through education and research throughout the world. And our vision is to improve healthcare worldwide by understanding the nervous system and optimizing the diagnosis and treatment of its disorders through clinical neurophysiology.

Welcome Message from the IFCN President

The IFCN supports a Visiting Professor Program, which all IFCN Societies can apply for. Please note that the request should not be for a single lecture only; several lectures and/or a workshop are anticipated. The proposal should include what the visiting professor may do (e.g., specific topics of interest) and the expected number of participants. . The potential number of participants will be important in judging these requests, and requests from countries where clinical neurophysiology is developing will have preference.

Under IFCN’s visiting professor program, Prof. Reinhard Dengler, Treasurer IFCN, took part in the 2nd Annual Conference of the Clinical Neurophysiology subsection of Indian Academy of Neurology (IAN), held in the Department of Neurology of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in November 2015. He delivered a comprehensive lecture on ALS including modern electrophysiological approaches testing upper and lower motor neuron involvement and also took part in an EMG demonstration workshop. All the delegates appreciated the knowledge imparted. Active interaction between him and young neurologists of the country was the highlight of his visit. The feed back received at the end was gratifying and most of the 115 delegates looked forward for more teaching courses in Clinical Neurophysiology.
